Sergeant Deon Cockrell has been with the Texas Department of Public Safety for 28 years. He started out has a highway patrol trooper in Crystal City before eventually making his way back to the city Austin where he had graduated from The University of Texas. Sgt Cockrell is currently stationed in Austin as the Media & Communications and Safety Education Sergeant for Travis County and nine surrounding counties. When he is not responding to media interviews and requests, Sgt Cockrell conducted safety education programs to businesses, schools and citizens thought central Texas.
