Event Description

This presentation aims to provide participants with an understanding of the reasons behind the EPA mandated switch to new low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants and why the best choices have fallen into the new A2L category. Specific changes in ASHRAE std 15 and std 34 will be highlighted including effects on building safety design considerations along with risk mitigation options for design.

Presenter:  


Bo Burns is the Executive Director of VRF Services of Texas, a service company specializing in servicing commercial VRF/VRV technology across the state of Texas. His HVAC background has focused primarily on building controls and VRF/VRV technology. Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Austin Community College HVAC Program Advisory Committee, is an Austin area native, and is happily married with two children. He holds a Bachelors of Science from Sam Houston State University and a MBA from Texas A&M.
