The Downtown Austin Veteran's Day Parade is back after 5 years! AAFAME members have helped with Parade logistics in the past.
We meet on the south side of the Congress bridge near the Bat Statue for assignments and briefing at 6:30am Tuesday, November 11th. Our job is to help approx 2,000 people and 200 vehicles safely in their marching order. The Parade Chairman will give us a formation list and we will greet people and guide them to their proper position. It's fun and easy until we start to get gridlocked.
Volunteer parking is at the Austin American Statesman on S. Congress. If that gets full, everyone is on their own.
More details will be sent to volunteers prior to the parade. Here is a picture from the 2023 parade.
