Description:
This will be an overview of the Internet of Things, also known as IoT, and how this tech trend relates to Smart Building Technology. The presentation will address what building systems are, or have the capability of being, part of a “Smart Building”. Further, it will include an overview of the benefits to the building’s management and tenants. Finally, I’ll address how Smart Building systems and components communicate, and the possible pitfalls of the upcoming 5G implementation.
Presented by Brett Weiss, with Mercury Communications of Austin, has been a long time member of AAFAME and is usually seen at our events with a camera in front of his face. He has been in the telecom industry for close to 20 years with a focus on data cabling, AV systems, and IT support. Brett is passionate about emerging technologies and how they affect commercial properties.
