Description:
This class will give the students an overview of how different types of lock cylinders work and how the type of lock effects the design of the system. We will discuss the most common mistakes made in new and existing systems. Why a door survey should be done and the value it has to the facilities engineers. And the most important part of any master key system.

Instructor Bio
JOHN RAY,  CPL, CAI has 38 years working in the security industry starting out as a field service technician for Cothron’s Safe and Lock in Austin Texas (1981-1993), a systems designer and production manager for Shield Security Systems in Englewood Colorado (1993-1997), Purchasing manager / Project manager / Store manager for Cothron’s (1997-2005), Owner Safeguard Lock and Key / Uncommon Tools LLC (2005-2016), In house instructor for Cothron’s (2016-present).  Instructing classes for locksmiths since 1988 in safe manipulation, safe penetration, master keying, advanced master keying and system design, basic electronic access systems, security hardware installation, and salesmanship.
