AAFAME has partnered with Air Performance Service of Central Texas, Inc to conduct a full-day review & exam to receive the EPA 608 Certification. 

What is the EPA 608 Certification?  The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has required that all persons handling refrigerants should be certified. EPA-Approved Section 608 certification is needed to service building air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Additionally, with 608 certification you can purchase any refrigerant in containers greater than 20 pounds.

Four levels of certification are available depending on the outcome of the exam results (must pass all 4 levels to receive Universal):
  • Type I Certification - Can only work on Small Appliances (5lbs or less of refrigerant)
  • Type II Certification - Can only work on Medium, High and Very-High Pressure Appliances.
  • Type III Certification - Can only work on Low-Pressure Appliances.
  • Universal Certification - Someone who possesses Type I, Type II and Type III Certifications
Students will receive their book with DVD at least 2 weeks in advance of course (depending on registration date) and are expected to review the following materials prior:
  • Service Tips & Techniques
  • Study Guide
  • DVD with Practice Test
  • Videos & Audio
The first half of the class will be a review of training materials followed by a 3 hour closed book exam administered by Johnstone Supply.

Breakfast & lunch will be provided.

$125 for members & $150 for non-members
