Event Name:
WEBINAR: Existing Building Recommissioning/Retrocommissioning 101

Event Type(s):
Training

Description:
Is it time for a "tune up" of your building's HVAC system?
Are you spending your day dealing with unexpected equipment failures? Are you constantly getting tenant complaints about comfort issues or indoor air quality? If the answer is yes to either of these questions or you just aren't sure, it is likely time for a tune up.

Retrocommissioning or recommissioning is the process of bringing back a building to original specifications and design or to bring the HVAC system up to today's standards for operations and performance. This would apply to building's that were originally commissioned (recommissioning) or possibly never commissioned (retrocommissioning).

Buildings often undergo many changes over the years, whether its changes in ownership, management, building engineering/operations, equipment, occupancy or uses. Rarely are these changes noted or taken into consideration for building performance.

Retrocommissioning includes:
  • An analysis of a building's operating protocols
  • Adjustment or calibration of mechanical systems, controls, waterside and airside equipment, including any needed cleaning and repairs
  • Properly performed, retrocommissioning also includes documentation and training so building operators can maintain improved performance, while offering significant savings in utilities
