In the world of facility and maintenance engineering, pressure is part of the job—tight deadlines, unexpected breakdowns, safety demands, and constant problem-solving. Your mindset isn’t just helpful… it’s essential.

This 2-hour workshop equips you with practical tools and strategies to strengthen optimism, reduce stress, and stay grounded in high-pressure environments. You’ll learn how to build resilience when things don’t go as planned, manage the daily demands of operations, and maintain a steady, solution-focused approach.

Participants will walk away with actionable strategies they can apply immediately, including:

“Happy habits” that support a positive, steady mindset during demanding days

An understanding of negativity bias—and how to reframe challenges into opportunities

Practical methods for managing stress, deadlines, and unexpected issues

A simple morning routine to set a focused and productive tone for the day

Additionally, we’ll explore the difference between a growth and fixed mindset—especially as it relates to problem-solving, leadership, and adapting to change in facility operations. Participants will also create a personal core value statement to align their actions with what matters most, leading to greater clarity, consistency, and purpose both on the job and at home.
This interactive, hands-on workshop equips building engineers with the knowledge and practical skills to confidently assess and respond to water and smoke damage incidents. Participants will learn how to safely evaluate losses, determine when damage can be effectively managed in-house, and recognize when professional restoration services are necessary.

Attendees will receive hands-on experience using industry-standard drying equipment, moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, air movers, dehumidifiers, and other restoration tools and instruments. The course covers how these devices are used to identify hidden moisture, monitor drying progress, test for smoke damage, and help ensure losses are addressed safely and effectively.

Through real-world scenarios and practical demonstrations, participants will gain the confidence to properly triage water and smoke losses, minimize property damage, reduce downtime, and protect building occupants while understanding the limitations of in-house mitigation efforts.
