Chili Slam Top Pepper:

Don’t Miss Out on the HOTTEST Event of the Year

The Chili Slam is a unique event created by the Austin Association of Facility & Maintenance Engineers in 1992. The first event was held in a open lot behind 100 Congress (hosted by Lincoln Properties). That same lot is now an underground parking garage. It started out as a volleyball tournament with (1) net and approximately (5) teams. We then held the event at Zilker Park for many years until 2009 when moved to Krieg Field on S. Pleasant Valley. In 2002 we added chili-cook off competition which quickly a popular activity. In 2003 we held a contest to name our unique event and the contest winner was “Chili Slam”. Since then we have added various events such as horseshoes, washers, brisket (now ribs), jackpot, tug of war & others. Each year brings bigger & better events and participation. We average almost 200 teams overall which equals 1,000+ people. This is a private event for AAFAME & BOMA members as a member appreciation day! Those who have attended never miss another one!
